OK , I'll completely admit it...I'm so bad at keeping up with this blog stuff....everything else seems to get in the way...then along comes a lil' challenge and I just have to give it a try...so I post a few pics of my project and well...that's it.
So, Its All Hallows Eve and I've made a lil' Sizzix village for the Sizzix challenge. No, I don't expect it to go anywhere...all the other projects are completely wonderful and fru fru....mine is kinda silly and spooky and if my kids were little and they goo goo gaga over it. :) But , here it is anyway.

I turned the lights off so you could see how I placed lil' battery
tea lights behind the house die cuts.
Oh, I had fun with all my older Sizzix die's and
even some newer ones! Lots of mix N' match with my
fav's of Sizzix dies.
Do you know you can really use the dies in so many different ways....
Ya just gotta let go a little and you can make all kinds of fun vignettes & well anything!

Well time sure flies when your just busy taking care of 'life'! Yikes...I'm not a regular blogger...but wish I was. :)
Anyhow.....I've actually done a Tim Holtz July tag. Lucky me, I actually had some of the supplies this time. I must admit, that's what stops me from doing a lot of them. And of course the intimidation that comes with trying and then submitting and hoping that somehow the little creation you made will get noticed and ...and ....drumroll, will be picked as a winner.
And so, without further adieu.....here is my Tim Holtz July 2014 Tag.

Well I'll just admit this upfront...I don't keep up with the blogging...post when I can...and then get gobbled up by daily life!
Just finished the Creative Chemistry 102 online Class -Wonderful Artist/crafter/teacher Tim Holtz .
It was amazing ....even better than CC101...if that's possible! So I will be showing them here. Yes, you can still take the class. It was packed full of techniques and tips on Inking, embossing, stencil layering...so much more. http://onlinecardclasses.com/thcc102/class-info/.
Here is the collection of tags I did....Yes, I know, we're supposed to have 6 each day, examples -tries anyway....here are some I tried.

Once again I did not have all the same materials as pictured and used in Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2012. That's ok...mine has its own personality....as many do!
Here is my September tag!
My tag is not just a September tag....but the phrase I stamped out makes me feel inspired....'To be all that is Possible!' And because I had a birthday in the beginning of September....argh...gettin' older....but I still feel that we can all still strive 'To be all that is Possible'!
I had fun adding just a partial part of a stamp phrase to the typewriter...and I really like the inspiring saying!
I also picked out print from a dictionary that had the word 'journey' , which we all know creative Tim and that smiling fun Mario use this word pretty often. Love it!
I loved putting a compass in the mix, especially sinse I used the work 'journey' in the page text below the typewriter. I especially had fun adding some tattered screen under the number '5' and also used a strip for the tag tie mixed with scraggly yarn piece.
See the word 'journey'? Couldn't help but at least underline it!

Out of commission a few months and could not wait to get back to trying Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2012.
Here is my August tag. I love the Alterations Pine Cone die....it really makes great roses. Takes a little practice to roll and form just right. I made a point of watching the video on Tim Holtz's blog about this die and it really made a difference! Rolling the twirled paper tight first and then once rolled, and before glueing, just twirl the toothpick backward to loosen up the Rose! Voila! If you have this great Sizzix die, go to Tim's blog and watch the video....it's very helpful!

Love the way my roses came out!
I didn't have the exact stamps or embossing folder...but what I had came close!
That's all for now....back to work!

May 2012- Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2012!
Just finished this one....little late in the month...but still time to post. I love using the UTEE to make the
little porcelain roses. I actually don't have one of those wonderful melting pots...but if you don't either then do as I did. Put UTEE in small bowl, moisten your rose a little, dip into the UTEE then blast a little with heat gun, while still gooey hot, dip into UTEE again and use heat tool again. I did this four times and was able to get the effect nicely. Although, I'm sure its much better to have a handy dandy melting pot...but I just improvised with what I had. Here's the final result. Not bad if I do say so myself!

So I gave this technique a second try....my first...while ok, just didn't have...this nice look. ;-) happy with this one....love circus stamps, and taking the Creative Chemistry class by Tim Holtz has showed me to 'go ahead' and add other interesting stamps or colors....don't think too much about it....have fun! So I did....and voila, tag came out much better the second time.
So in class, we get the secrets of his great techniques....but also learn to 'let go' and have fun....and guess what....that makes everything BETTER! Thanks Tim! he he
I've been super busy with the Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry class the past week and really love all the techniques I'm learning...as well as all the different properties with inks, distress markers, paper....
Here is an example of a tag I did using re-inkers with an ink blending tool, emboss folder and then stamping with archival black. First try- almost pleased...but will be trying this one again!
